Responsibilities
Check the grade of roadways and construction sites using manual and laser methods.
Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage employees, subcontractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
Conduct topographical and construction surveys, providing accurate survey data for quantities, engineering, mapmaking, land evaluation, construction, and other purposes.
Conduct construction survey layout for major and minor construction projects, including subdivisions, aggregate pits, mining, and roadways.
Complete topographical surveys for as-builts and quantities.
Assist in preparing as-built drawings and calculating earthwork quantities using Civil 3D.
Provide proper care and maintenance of survey gear, company truck, and other equipment.
Perform machine control.
Plan, direct, and conduct construction surveys; establish and mark work limits.
Understand and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics, and examine situations in light of those principles.
Participate as a team member and provide other technical and administrative support as required.

Survey/Field Technologist overview:
Reporting to the Superintendent, the job of the Survey/Field Technologist is to conduct topographical and construction surveys. Providing accurate survey data for Quantities, engineering, mapmaking, land evaluation, construction and other purposes.

Participate as a vital team member, and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required.
