Requirements
  • Two years of direct customer experience in the hospitality or airline industry, or four years of customer contact and customer-service issue resolution with the general public.
  • Must proficiently speak business-level Italian and read Latin script.
  • Must be able to reach vertically to 82 inches.
  • Must satisfactorily complete annual FAA-approved recertification provided by Hawaiian Airlines.
  • Must learn and maintain current knowledge and competency of emergency procedures under Hawaiian Airlines and FAA regulations.
  • Must demonstrate strong customer-service skills and effectively diffuse and resolve difficult customer situations.
  • Must be able to stand for four to seventeen hours and perform stooping, twisting, and pushing and pulling cabin equipment under varying climatic, gravitational, and cabin-pressurization conditions.
  • Must lift 25 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height.
  • Must be comfortable in a swimming pool with a life vest during emergency training and in water during an in-flight emergency.
  • Must secure oneself in a jump seat with a harness without using a seat-belt extension and move quickly through the cabin aisle.
  • Must successfully complete an FAA-approved, unpaid eight-week intensive training program provided by Hawaiian Airlines.
  • Must be able to serve alcohol.
  • Must be able to relocate within Hawaii or the continental United States.
  • Must read, write, and speak English proficiently.
  • Must successfully pass a tuberculosis test.
  • Must possess a valid passport and secure applicable visas for travel to countries served by Hawaiian Airlines.
  • Must possess the legal right to travel from all countries served by Hawaiian Airlines.
  • Travel documents must remain valid throughout training and employment.
  • Must be available for alternative schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Attend preflight briefings covering flight details, weather, route, altitude, emergency procedures, crew coordination, flight duration, and onboard services.
  • Prepare the aircraft cabin for boarding and departure.
  • Greet guests, direct them to assigned seats, and assist with stowing carry-on luggage.
  • Answer flight-related questions and provide prompt, courteous service throughout the flight.
  • Demonstrate seat-belt, oxygen-mask, and life-jacket use.
  • Monitor guest compliance with safety regulations and address infractions professionally.
  • Direct and assist guests during emergency procedures, including evacuations.
  • Administer first aid when necessary and complete written and verbal reports of emergency or safety-related incidents.
  • Provide food and beverage service according to airline procedures.
  • Collect and reconcile payments for onboard meals, alcoholic beverages, and duty-free items.
  • Prepare guests and the cabin for landing, secure the cabin, and assist with deplaning.
  • Collaborate with crew members to deliver a safe and pleasant guest experience.
  • Recognize and escalate potential issues and respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints.
  • Assist ill or incapacitated passengers and fellow crew members during emergencies.
  • Evacuate the aircraft through heavy, dense smoke during a cabin fire.
  • Access, handle, and operate oxygen bottles, fire extinguishers, and other emergency equipment.
  • Remove and lift emergency cabin windows weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Jump down the emergency slide from approximately 24.5 feet.
  • Maintain current FAA-approved emergency and safety certifications.
