Requirements
  • Some administrative support experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Interest in constituent communication and/or data management and reporting.
  • Current UVA student status and eligibility for federal work-study.
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, ideally two to three days per week for six hours per day.
Responsibilities
  • Manage data entry, report generation, and data analysis using the Salesforce customer relationship management system.
  • Contribute to the strategy, planning, and implementation of volunteer events held virtually and on Grounds, and assist with staffing these events in person or online when available.
  • Create executive summaries using Canva to illustrate program progress or success.
  • Create surveys in Qualtrics or Microsoft Forms for internal or external audiences, draft survey communications to constituents, and analyze respondent data.
  • Assist with volunteer onboarding, engagement, offboarding, and stewardship, including outbound communications, assembling mailing materials, and responding to inbound volunteer inquiries.
  • Participate in the structured Internship Placement Program experience and, if selected, enroll in either UNST 3910 or UNST 3920 or complete the asynchronous co-curricular workshop series if the courses do not fit the student's schedule.
  • Travel some distance occasionally to attend meetings and programs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience navigating database systems, or enthusiasm to learn.
  • Solid data management and reporting skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively by email with internal and external constituents.
  • Problem-solving, creative thinking, idea sharing, and collaboration skills.
  • Interest in nonprofit or higher education administration.
  • Students in their second through fourth years are the preferred audience for the TFWS internship.
