Requirements
  • Four years of secretarial experience performing the tasks and duties of an Administrative Assistant or Secretary III.
  • Ability to collect information, respond to routine inquiries, and prepare periodic reports or presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively through oral communication and formal reports.
  • Ability to maintain a DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to pass acceptable reference and background checks and a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare official correspondence and documents, maintain incoming and outgoing logs of naval correspondence and documents, serialize correspondence, and submit documents for signature.
  • Monitor leadership schedules and calendars, arrange conferences and meetings, and assemble established background materials as directed.
  • Edit and proofread documents for grammar and spelling and format documents in accordance with government guidelines.
  • Assist the Management Internal Control Program Coordinator with maintaining and updating program notebooks, including tracking.
  • Provide records management support and transmit text data and graphics as required.
  • Upload travel into the online tracking system.
  • Create, route, and track message traffic.
  • Prepare official correspondence for the legal department.
  • Perform Command Pay and Personnel Administrator functions.
  • Attend meetings and record minutes as required.
