About the company

Crazy Mountain makes non-alcoholic beer. It launched in 2026 with two lager-style flavors, Original and Lime, each about 65 calories per 12-ounce can, and sells online with plans for phased retail and on-premise rollout nationwide. The beer is brewed with a proprietary maltose-negative yeast that naturally limits alcohol so no dealcoholization step is needed, helping preserve flavor. The brand differentiates itself through celebrity-founded leadership, premium health-conscious positioning, a unique brewing method, and strategic distribution via luxury communities to reach mindful drinkers, with the goal of building a national, premium non-alcoholic beer brand.

What believers are saying

  • CAVU led a $15 million seed in April 2026, funding expansion quickly.
  • Retail rollout across the U.S. throughout 2026 expands awareness beyond celebrity buzz.
  • Two low-calorie SKUs, Original and Lime, fit moderation demand among beer drinkers.

What critics are saying

  • Athletic Brewing's 2026 partnerships and Stadium deals crowd out shelf and tap space.
  • Heineken 0.0 launched flavors and Ultimate in 2026, compressing Crazy Mountain's premium niche.
  • Discovery Land luxury channels are narrow; failure there leaves no defensible volume base.

What makes Crazy Mountain unique

  • George Clooney, Rande Gerber, and Mike Meldman bring Casamigos-scale beverage credibility.
  • Steve Fechheimer, ex-New Belgium CEO, adds proven brewing and distribution execution.
  • Proprietary maltose-negative yeast preserves lager flavor without post-brew dealcoholization.

Crazy Mountain raises $15M to expand non-alcoholic beer across the US

Crazy Mountain, a Los Angeles-based non-alcoholic beer brand, has raised $15 million in seed funding led by CAVU Consumer Partners, with participation from Coatue and Discovery Land Company. The company currently offers two products — original and lime — which are rolling out across the US this year. CAVU Consumer Partners cited confidence in Crazy Mountain's positioning within the growing non-alcoholic drinks market, which has gained traction particularly amongst younger consumers. Brett Thomas, co-founder and managing partner at CAVU, called moderation "a durable change in behaviour" rather than a passing trend and will join the company's board. Co-founder Rande Gerber said the brand aims to maintain the ritual of drinking beer whilst removing the alcohol.
