Stablecoin market cap stands at $306.651 billion as payments advance.

Stablecoin market cap stands at $306.651 billion as payments advance. Tether and USD Coin account for most of the supply, while Coinbase, Citi and Volante expand stablecoin payment infrastructure for U.S. institutions. By John Kim Published Sep 29, 2026, 2:12 PM EDT Mentioned assets Stablecoin market capitalization stood at $306.651 billion as of Sept. 30, with payment infrastructure expanding across major U.S. financial institutions and strong USDT activity continuing on TRON. The market grew 0.9% over 30 days and $1.703 billion over seven days. Tether (USDT) accounted for $183.759 billion, while USD Coin (USDC) represented $75.466 billion. The figures measure the value of tokens in circulation, not necessarily the amount of fiat entering crypto markets. Supply can rise when tokens are minted, moved between networks or redistributed across chains. Discover more Digital Currencies Currencies & Foreign Exchange Citi's institutional clients will be able to accept stablecoin payments through Spring by Citi. Coinbase's infrastructure will convert the digital assets into fiat, while Citi will settle the funds. The initial initiatives are planned for the United States, with additional capabilities expected later. "Citi is exactly the kind of regulated banking partner the digital asset economy needs to move from experimentation to everyday commerce," said Brett Tejpaul, head of Coinbase Institutional. Volante Technologies is integrating USD Coin workflows into its payments platform. The platform's clients include four of the five largest global corporate banks and seven of the 10 largest U.S. banks. The system is designed to handle stablecoin minting, redemption, beneficiary-wallet registration, funding, notifications and wallet-to-wallet payments. "For banks, stablecoin adoption is not about building a separate digital asset stack," said Deepak Gupta, chief product, engineering and delivery officer at Volante Technologies. Discover more Financial Markets News Crypto market report Blockchain news subscription TRON showed strong USDT activity, while Ethereum and TRON remained major stablecoin venues. TRON recorded $24.469 billion in USDT transfer volume on Sept. 25, 2026 (UTC). USDe and sUSDe went live on TRON on Sept. 11, 2026. TRON held more than $94 billion in USDT at that time. As of September 2026, the network had more than 403 million accounts, 15 billion transactions and $28 billion in total value locked. The data do not establish that stablecoin liquidity growth is flowing across the broader crypto market. The payment initiatives are designed to expand stablecoin use within existing financial systems, but they do not show that the activity is moving into Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) or other speculative crypto purchases.

Volante Technologies and Circle to advance stablecoin payment and settlement capabilities for financial institutions.

Volante Technologies and Circle to advance stablecoin payment and settlement capabilities for financial institutions. NEW YORK, September 28, 2026 - Volante Technologies, the global leader in Payments as a Service (PaaS), today announced a strategic collaboration with Circle Internet Group, Inc. (NYSE: CRCL) ("Circle"), a leading internet financial platform company and the issuer of USDC[1] through its regulated entities, to help financial institutions integrate stablecoin payment and settlement capabilities into their existing payment operations. Through the collaboration, Volante is bringing USDC workflows into its AI-powered Payments Platform, enabling financial institutions to evaluate how stablecoin activity can operate alongside existing payment rails, operational controls, and on- and off-ramp requirements - without requiring a separate digital asset stack. Volante clients, which include four of the top five global corporate banks and seven of the top 10 U.S. banks, will be able to evaluate key workflows, including minting, redemption, beneficiary wallet registration, funding, notifications, and wallet-to-wallet payment execution, within the same payments infrastructure they use today. The collaboration reflects a broader industry shift toward multi-rail payments architectures that combine traditional payment systems with emerging forms of digital value transfer. By enabling banks to assess how USDC can fit within existing operating models, Circle and Volante are helping banks explore new approaches to payments, settlement, and liquidity movement while maintaining the governance, controls, and interoperability required for institutional use. Nikhil Chandhok, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Circle, said: "As stablecoins become an increasingly important component of modern payments infrastructure, financial institutions need practical ways to understand how digital dollars can fit within existing operations. Our collaboration with Volante does exactly that by bringing USDC capabilities into the systems, controls, and processes banks already use, and helping them move from exploration toward operational implementation." Deepak Gupta, Chief Product, Engineering, and Delivery Officer, Volante Technologies, said: "For banks, stablecoin adoption is not about building a separate digital asset stack; it is about integrating a new rail into the payment infrastructure they already depend on. Volante clients can soon test USDC workflows within our AI-powered Payments Platform, including how stablecoin activity can be orchestrated alongside existing rails, operational controls, and on- and off-ramp requirements. We look forward to future collaborations with Circle, potential joint go-to-market opportunities, and USDC via Volante." [1 USDC is issued by regulated affiliates of Circle. Volante Technologies Introduces Multi-cloud Resiliency Service to Ensure Non-stop Payments Processing During Major Cloud Outages

Volante Technologies introduces Multi-cloud Resiliency Service to ensure non-stop payments processing during major cloud outages. NEW YORK, Jan. 21, 2026 - Volante Technologies, the global leader in Payments as a Service (PaaS), today announced the launch of its premium Multi-cloud Resiliency Service, engineered to keep financial institutions' payment operations running seamlessly during major cloud provider outages. Built on Volante's proven cloud-native payments platform, the service provides true cross-cloud continuity, eliminating single-cloud/provider dependency for the payments layer. Recent large-scale outages across hyperscale cloud providers have demonstrated the real-world impact of cloud concentration risk for banks: delayed or failed transactions, SLA penalties, customer churn, operational recovery costs, and reputational damage. While industry research estimates financial sector outages can exceed $2 million per hour, the financial exposure for many large and mid-sized financial institutions far exceeds this average, underscoring why resilience is now a business requirement, not a "nice to have." "Payments are the lifeblood of the global economy, and downtime is not an option," said Vijay Oddiraju, CEO at Volante Technologies. "Operational resilience must be engineered and continuously proven, not treated as a document on a shelf. Our Multi-cloud Resiliency Service keeps payments running through major cloud disruptions, giving financial institutions confidence and their customers peace of mind in their banking experience." Volante's Multi-cloud Resiliency Service directly addresses this challenge with rapid cross-cloud disaster recovery (DR) failover to a secondary cloud environment with a brief switchover window and zero data loss. PaaS clients can opt in at any time with minimal configuration changes, while Volante manages the ongoing operational readiness and testing behind the scenes, helping financial institutions align with regulatory expectations such as DORA and other global operational resilience frameworks. "Cloud concentration risk isn't theoretical - it's a direct revenue, reputational, and regulatory issue for financial institutions, and single-provider architectures simply cannot meet resilience expectations as payments become increasingly cloud-native," said Deepak Gupta, Chief Product, Engineering, and Delivery Officer, Volante Technologies. "Our Multi-cloud Resiliency Service is purpose-built for payments, enabling cross-cloud processing continuity when a primary cloud environment is unavailable, while helping our clients stay ahead of global regulatory demands." Built on Volante's existing SaaS service, the Multi-cloud Resiliency Service extends an already secure and highly available foundation with additional layers of continuity and protection. The service includes data access restrictions, role-based entitlements, and encryption for data at rest and in transit. The solution maintains enterprise assurance through a comprehensive set of recognized certifications, including PCI DSS 4.0, SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 22301, and ISO 27701. Volante plans to continue expanding the Multi-cloud Resiliency Service with expanded cross-cloud capabilities, additional automation, and predictive analytics to support more proactive resilience planning and execution. Volante Technologies unveils payments workflows solution

Volante Technologies unveils payments workflows solution. Volante Technologies, has launched Volante Low-code Studio, a solution allowing banks to modernise with autonomous, cost-efficient payment workflows and accelerated time-to-market. Integrated with Volante's cloud-native payments platform, the provider of payments as a service (PaaS) says the product equips financial institutions with pre-built capabilities and extensible patterns to innovate and achieve cost efficiency benefits. Gareth Lodge, principal analyst, Celent, notes: "Payments modernisation efforts have built a reputation for being hard to do, from complex integration, slow to deploy, and expensive to update, leaving many banks stuck in a build-or-buy dilemma between monolithic legacy products, unproven frameworks, and high-cost homegrown solutions." Lodge says, through Volante's approach, "financial institutions gain the breadth and resilience of a full-featured payments hub while using low-code to configure their processing in a way that is secure, scalable, and uniquely differentiated for their customers". Deepak Gupta, chief product, engineering, and delivery officer, Volante Technologies, adds: "By combining the agility of low-code with the proven strength of Volante's platform, banks can now 'buy-and-extend', launching new services in weeks, not months, while maintaining resilience, scalability, and compliance."
