Nutanix gets Dell PowerStore support. PowerStore is Dell's file and block storage product line, being a dual-controller storage array supporting 4-way clustering. It has a unified scale-up and scale-out architecture supporting block, file, virtual machines and container workloads. This collaboration makes PowerStore the second Dell storage platform to integrate with Nutanix, following PowerFlex, which was the first external storage supported and integrated with the Nutanix Cloud Platform. Dell now offers the broadest infrastructure portfolio available for Nutanix environments. An updated partnership deal signed in June 2024 was followed by Dell announcing PowerFlex support for Nutanix AHV as external storage in August that year. Dell added Nutanix AHV support to its private cloud offering, alongside the existing VMware and Red Hat, in February this year. Nutanix added support for synchronous disaster recovery for Dell PowerFlex in April. And now Dell is supporting PowerStore as a second storage option for Nutanix AHV. There are more than 18,000 worldwide PowerStore customers, and the array competes directly with Everpure's FlashArray, NetApp AFF, HPE Alletra, and similar midrange/all-flash systems. The Dell Private Cloud delivers a validated Nutanix Cloud Platform experience on PowerStore with automated AHV deployment and Dell system-level hardware support. PowerStore brings NVMe all-flash performance and independent scaling to Nutanix AHV hypervisor with transparent Prism integration. The Nutanix Cloud Platform including the AHV hypervisor, Flow networking and security, Prism management and operations, now supports PowerStore external storage. Dell says it's offering organizations a fully validated path to running Nutanix with enterprise-grade external storage. Its Cloud Platform software has support for virtualized, cloud-native, and AI-ready workloads on a common platform giving customers deployment flexibility. Dell PowerStore is available for the Nutanix Cloud Platform, specifically Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI) 7.6 with full Day 0 through Day 2 lifecycle support, non-disruptive upgrades and single-drive scaling, with validated deployment through the Dell Private Cloud.
