Roche has entered into a definitive merger agreement to acquire PathAI, a US-based digital pathology and AI technology company, for $750 million upfront plus up to $300 million in milestone payments. The deal, expected to close in the second half of 2026 pending regulatory approvals, will integrate PathAI into Roche Diagnostics. The acquisition builds on a partnership established in 2021. PathAI's AISight Image Management System will be scaled globally and combined with Roche's companion diagnostics expertise to accelerate biomarker discovery, translational research and clinical trial support.
