Requirements
  • Education equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
  • Five years of experience in the construction field, two years of experience as a construction foreman, or an equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and bend for full work days.
  • Ability to use hands, arms, and fingers and to reach.
  • Ability to work from heights.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and execute assigned projects from project planning through project completion.
  • Oversee the safety, quality, cost, schedule, labor, equipment, and materials associated with assigned work, including Vogel Bros. field personnel, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Schedule and coordinate all daily jobsite activities.
  • Conduct physical jobsite inspections at least twice daily, focusing on progress, safety, schedule, quality, and budget.
  • Coordinate company-owned and rented equipment and ensure company procedures are followed for equipment maintenance and safety.
  • Complete required company and project-specific paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure quality control complies with company requirements, project instructions, and direction from project leadership.
  • Work with layout personnel to establish and lay out building lines, baselines, and benchmarks.
  • Audit jobsites to ensure craftsmanship, assembly, and cleanliness standards are maintained by company and subcontractor crews.
  • Coordinate and schedule third-party inspections.
  • Adhere to and enforce the company safety program, applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations, and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Conduct jobsite safety meetings, safety inspections, and daily crew huddles focused on safety, planned activities, and work expectations.
  • Review project cost projections established during bidding and budgeting.
  • Plan and control labor costs with the Project Manager and Director of Field Operations using crew analysis and cost-projection tools.
  • Supervise and coordinate work activities to maximize productivity and minimize final costs.
  • Report production, cost, and job progress information regularly.
  • Communicate daily production goals to work crews.
  • Develop project schedules, including manpower projections, with project leadership.
  • Update and maintain the project schedule weekly.
  • Expedite and coordinate material deliveries and storage.
  • Conduct and document weekly meetings to schedule and coordinate the work of company and subcontractor crews.
  • Conduct human-resources functions for field personnel in cooperation with the Director of Safety and Human Resources and Director of Field Operations.
  • Provide regular performance feedback and work with the Director of Field Operations to develop field personnel.
  • Complete performance appraisals and peer reviews as requested.
  • Assign mentors to improve employees' skills.
  • Create a healthy work environment where employees can reach their full potential.
