Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A heavy civil construction background with at least five years of field experience.
  • Experience managing multiple Project Engineers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to function as a team builder and player.
  • The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct the project team by providing the communication, coordination, and follow-up necessary to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Maintain ongoing training and mentoring of the project team.
  • Provide project information and project reviews to senior management as required.
  • Coordinate training and compliance measures to ensure project procedures are followed.
  • Ensure the scope of work, schedule, and budget are clearly defined and understood by senior management, project participants, and the client.
  • Determine, control, and maintain overall project and discipline schedules and budgets.
  • Track schedule and budget progress against project milestones and take necessary action to keep the project on track.
  • Identify and secure necessary approvals for changes in project scope, budget, or schedule.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the client and adjust project deliverables as necessary to meet client and stakeholder needs within contractual obligations.
  • Follow and ensure conformance with OHLA USA policies and procedures, including safety policies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ten-hour and 30-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration certificates are preferred.
  • Previous roadway, bridge, or railroad experience in the Greater Chicago Area and knowledge of local practices are preferred.
