  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical or science disciplines, construction, or project management and at least 3 years of related experience; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in a non-technical discipline and at least 4 years of related experience; an associate’s degree and at least 5 years of related experience; or a high school diploma or GED and at least 7 years of related experience.
  • Ability to understand and interpret electrical and mechanical documents, construction drawings, P&IDs, and Design Change Packages.
  • Basic understanding of facility processes, systems, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of site work-control procedures and work practices and procedures for maintenance, operations, construction, and project-related areas.
  • Knowledge of general or specific safety, environmental, regulatory, safeguards, security, and emergency preparedness programs, policies, practices, and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of schedules and schedule integration, including support resources required to accomplish tasks.
  • Thorough knowledge of Waste Removal & Tank Closure and/or Capital Project guidelines related to cost, scope, schedule, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a matrix organization and coordinating activities with multiple stakeholders, including internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Radiological worker training.
  • Ability to apply construction planning, field coordination, project interfaces, scheduling, work packages, constructability, turnover, issue resolution, and status reporting.
  • Field leadership, safety focus, coordination, decision-making, schedule awareness, and accountability.
Responsibilities
  • Obtain safety training, follow safety rules, make safety an integral part of each task, and stop work when continuing an activity is unsafe or would create an unsafe condition.
  • Represent construction as the point of contact for coordination and interface with operations, radiological control, maintenance, and other facility support organizations; interface with internal and external customers and facility groups and departments, including mid- and upper management.
  • Interface regularly with the Assistant Project Construction Manager and superintendents to determine schedules and budgets for current and upcoming scopes of work.
  • Coordinate and complete field walkdowns to verify construction progress and non-technical completion of activities identified in schedules and project scope documents.
  • Coordinate and participate in construction schedule development meetings to understand execution activities, schedule logic, durations, and interface requirements with external departments.
  • Maintain awareness of scheduled project work and required interfaces with external work groups and project support organizations to prevent constraints to construction activities.
  • Represent the construction team in status, integration, and other meetings related to assigned work scopes.
  • Comprehend and follow ISMS work steps: scope, analyze hazards, identify controls, perform work, and provide feedback; stay current on changing work practices and policies.
  • Ensure work is performed according to technical work documents and safety standards, with support from construction engineering and craft supervision.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to provide input for integrating project schedule activities into facility scheduling programs, including POW, lock-in, and long-range planning.
  • Conduct and participate in project safety and work-planning meetings to confirm schedule activities, logic, and durations are properly defined; implement changes needed to ensure timely data input.
  • Review schedules and milestone commitments to ensure progress supports on-time completion and identify potential impacts and risks to project performance.
  • Coordinate construction execution and interfaces for ongoing project work; serve as liaison between project management, the project team, and construction management to coordinate execution from awarded work through turnover to the customer.
