Requirements
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the design of electrical power generation and distribution and utilization systems; experience with industrial and municipal clients
  • Familiarity with ETAP or SKM computer-assisted electrical power study programs including short-circuit, protective relaying coordination and arc-flash studies
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and NFPA 70B and other electrical industry codes, standards and recommended practices
  • Able and willing to travel for short period for site visits and client meetings
  • Experience working on water and wastewater projects
Responsibilities
  • Coordinating and performing power studies including Arc Flash analysis
  • Leading detailed design efforts for electrical power systems
  • Supporting proposal development through scope definition and engineering estimates
  • Preparing procurement specifications for electrical equipment
  • Developing comprehensive electrical construction documents
  • Designing, reviewing, and sealing electrical design packages
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends
  • Technical Developments Recommendation: Discuss and recommend technical developments to improve quality to better meet client's needs
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Manage technical troubleshooting projects, ensuring effective diagnosis of technical issues with equipment and experiments and the development of effective solutions
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media
  • Testing: Develop product specifications and design test procedures and standards
  • Project Management: Deliver small- or medium-scale projects while working within an established program management plan
  • Engineering Drawings: Create complex engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions
  • Equipment Installation: Lead major equipment rebuilds; guide planned installation of complex systems
  • Process Design Engineering: Analyze information and specify the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems to deliver the end product within specified cost and quality parameters
  • Engineering Solutions Design: Design engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief (for example, in terms of functionality, performance, aesthetics, and cost) that conforms to organizational and/or regulatory standards
  • Client & Customer Management (External): Manage relationships with small clients while also helping senior colleagues manage relationships with larger key clients and customers
