We are looking for a talented Data Analyst Intern (Marketing) to join our Analytics team. As an intern, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful and positive impact on how consumers interact with their finances. You will be fully embedded into one of our teams and work on various technical challenges to help design, build and maintain high-performance, scalable systems that will support NerdWallet’s rapid growth.
During your time here, you will be paired with a technical mentor and manager to help you succeed. All of our interns work in cross-functional multidisciplinary teams to allow you to understand the direct impact of the products we build. You will have the chance to collaborate and learn from seasoned Nerds in our organization and make a significant impact in building our product. By the end of your internship, you will be well on your way towards becoming a well-rounded Data Analyst and product innovator who embodies the unique NerdWallet culture.
Our Summer internship program typically lasts 12 weeks during May to August.
Where you can make an impact:
- Become a NerdWallet Marketing data expert: understand the ins and outs of our database, consisting of both internal and third party data.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Performance Marketing, Product, Data Engineering, and sister Analytics/BI teams to uncover data-driven insights and opportunities across NerdWallet through effective analyses and modeling.
- Drive improvements on Performance Marketing strategy with data-driven insights, understand business challenges and goals, and discover areas for opportunity via effective analyses, reporting, and modeling
- Build interesting tools for data quality, data integration, performance, QA, and Operations (on top of AWS) that will positively impact our software development process and site operations.
You are:
- Proficient in SQL
- Passionate about self-improvement and eager to grow
- A quick learner and enthusiastic about bringing clarity to the finance world
- Eager to work with new programming languages and emerging technologies
Your experience:
We recognize not everyone will meet all of the criteria. If you meet most of the criteria below and you’re excited about the opportunity and willing to learn, we’d love to hear from you.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics or in a related field
- Demonstrated experience, familiarity and ease with handling large data sets and crunching numbers
- Familiarity with popular performance marketing channels - Google SEM, Display, Native, OTT, or Youtube.
- Working towards mastery of one or more programming languages such as Python, SQL, or R.
- Prior experience with Looker is a big plus but not required

- The hourly rate for this role is $35. Our internships vary from 12-16 weeks.
