Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited school of Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Family Therapy, with a minimum of two years of experience in health care and at least two years in a psychiatric setting, is preferred.
  • Full, independent licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or equivalent in the state of practice is required.
  • Working knowledge of therapeutic interventions and techniques for all age groups, as well as the dynamics of human growth and behavior, is required.
  • The role may include cognitive behavioral therapy duties in addition to social services, according to the program description.
  • American Red Cross Professional Rescuer certification is required within 30 days of hire, with biannual recertification.
  • Formal training in the management of the aggressive patient through NCI is required within 60 days of hire, with annual recertification.
  • Attendance at all mandatory in-services and other in-services relevant to the position is required.
  • Responsibility for educational requirements and related obligations pertaining to the program or unit license and regulatory requirements governing the programs is required.
Responsibilities
  • Promote teamwork, assistance, and serve as a resource to the multidisciplinary team for patient care.
  • Train, coach, provide consultation, and support assigned behavior specialists and therapists.
  • Oversee the development, coordination, and facilitation of social services provided to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with and support the site operational and clinical leadership team.
  • Provide direct patient care and social services as needed.
  • Collaborate with the site leadership team to provide oversight and resources for clinical staff.
  • Oversee and assure timely, effective planning and patient care from admission to discharge by staff.
  • Ensure all staff scheduling and coverage needs are met.
  • Collaborate with the Director or Manager of Operations to establish goals consistent with the job duties, program requirements, and the system's mission.
  • Communicate goals to staff.
  • Evaluate and report to the Director or Manager of Operations.
  • Participate in staff evaluations.
  • Promote a team environment by participating in workload completion and accepting patient assignments.
  • Involve the Director or Manager of Operations when employee-related issues arise.
  • Assist employees in professional growth.
  • Participate in department and multidisciplinary meetings and provide timely communication and problem resolution.
  • Collaborate in developing and implementing organized, regular oversight of staff.
  • Follow cases to provide feedback to improve the quality of care delivered by staff.
  • Participate in the orientation and supervision of new staff and student interns, tracking and logging supervision content and improvement goals.
  • Accept patient assignments and requests for coverage.
  • Provide effective group, individual, and family therapy as necessary.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary staffing and discuss each patient's progress.
  • Conduct medical record audits to identify deficiencies and improve quality and consistency of care.
  • Ensure deficiencies in medical record documentation, assessments, and required forms are resolved immediately.
  • Complete audits of 20% of charts based on the daily census for all programs.
  • Record audit results and recommend improvements for errors or quality trends.
  • Provide feedback, education, and observations to staff members, the Director or Manager of Operations, and the Clinical Director or Supervisor.
  • Assist in conducting comprehensive and fair interviews that support timely recruitment decisions.
  • Participate in system marketing and outreach activities.
  • Interact with the Outreach Representative to communicate customer-related issues and participate in the customer feedback process when necessary.
  • Participate in outreach visits, educational talks, and community events with the Director or Manager of Operations and Outreach Representative.
  • Evaluate employees objectively and provide periodic coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure team members follow Rogers policies and procedures.
  • Communicate department goals to staff and demonstrate measurable goal achievement.
  • Maintain department policies and procedures.
  • Educate new staff regarding applicable regulations and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on conflict resolution and investigations.
  • Maintain an understanding of variances and their impact on the department budget.
  • Influence departments within Rogers and provide leadership guidance.
  • Include requirements and guidelines from external agencies, including the Joint Commission and the State of Wisconsin.
  • Participate in Rogers committees, performance improvement team meetings, and team projects.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and preparedness.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Contribute in a positive, solution-focused manner.
  • Conduct oneself professionally and respond to inquiries and tasks in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with all individuals in a positive and professional manner.
  • Resolve individual issues with peers calmly and with a solution-focused approach.
  • Communicate concerns and provide solutions.
