General Dynamics

Builds submarines, combat vehicles and business jets

General Dynamics builds warships, nuclear submarines, combat vehicles, and munitions for the U.S. military and allied governments, plus Gulfstream business jets for corporations and private owners. Gulfstream designs large, long-range jets and maintains them through its own service centers and completion shops. A separate technologies arm runs IT, cybersecurity, and command-and-control systems for defense and federal civilian agencies. The company earns its money from multiyear government contracts for ships, vehicles, and services, and the rest from selling and servicing jets.
