- A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care or outpatient setting, preferably in Labor and Delivery and/or obstetrics and gynecology.
- A Master of Science in Nursing or a Master of Medical Science in a health-related field is required.
- An active New Jersey Registered Nurse license is required.
- Working knowledge and understanding of information systems, quality reporting, and databases used to measure outcomes is required.
- Ability to formulate and operationalize process improvements based on sound data to drive positive outcomes is required.
- Working knowledge of The Joint Commission requirements, Joint Commission Perinatal and Children's Core Measures, Leapfrog, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality measures, and public reporting is required.
- Advanced interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to foster consensus and engagement among individuals or groups are required.
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing at individual and group levels and prepare executive-level summaries is required.
- Serve as a key resource to executive leadership.
- Be accountable for the clinical competency and quality of care provided by physicians, non-physician clinicians including advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and medical assistants in ambulatory and acute care settings.
- Develop tools to improve patient care quality and serve as an agent of change.
- Monitor data and manage information and outcomes relating to the Women's & Children's and Adult Health Institute Primary Care/Behavioral Health services.
- Develop and execute quality and safety initiatives across the institutes in hospital and ambulatory settings.
- Oversee clinical practice in ambulatory and inpatient settings in collaboration with outpatient and inpatient clinical operations leadership.
- Oversee clinical and quality-related issues and personnel in ambulatory and inpatient settings for the institute.
- Co-chair process improvement and patient safety committees within the institutes.
- Monitor, track, and report quality outcomes, event reporting, and other quality-related information to support best practices across the listed women's, children's, adult health, behavioral health, and related clinical units.
- Partner with ambulatory operations and departments of patient care to assure compliance with clinical standards established by The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Leapfrog, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, perinatal and children's standards, pay-for-performance requirements, and publicly reported data including HCAHPS.
- Respond to physician, patient, and employee satisfaction data and develop action plans for suboptimal scores.
- Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of clinical practice and organizational systems.
- Basic Life Support certification is preferred.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is preferred.
