Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized university is required.
  • A Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with Professional Engineers Ontario is required.
  • A valid license, insurance, and personal vehicle are required.
  • At least 7 years of experience in consulting engineering as a geotechnical engineer is required.
  • The candidate must be eligible for federal security clearance.
  • The candidate must be flexible to travel.
  • The candidate must have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in English.
  • The candidate must have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The candidate must have exceptional organizational skills.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • The candidate must maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • The candidate must follow the company's safety program and policies and be adequately trained and comfortable completing each task safely.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with geotechnical proposals, field work, project management, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Complete technical services, including technical field and laboratory work and reporting.
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance testing and field inspections on infrastructure and construction projects.
  • Perform laboratory and field testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt.
  • Monitor pile driving.
  • Conduct field inspections, slope assessments, and drilling field programs.
  • Participate in meetings.
  • Interact with clients and team members.
  • Assist with engineering calculations for technical reports.
  • Complete tasks within schedule and budget to the satisfaction of public and private clients.
  • Collaborate with AllRock staff to serve the needs of the client base.
  • Notify the company owner if the driver's license is revoked or suspended.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience writing proposals and reports, and experience in other areas of project-related management.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and geotechnical software such as Slope/W and Settle3D, or related experience.
