- Review CT and radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and release patients.
- Respond to emergencies, restock the crash cart, and maintain life-support equipment.
- Assist other technologists across imaging modalities when needed.
- Observe patient condition and determine when physician intervention is necessary.
- Apply age-appropriate procedures, equipment, supplies, and techniques.
- Organize schedules, time, and priorities to complete activities within designated time frames.
- Follow physician instructions when assisting with procedures and examinations.
- Operate power injection equipment and maintain venipuncture competency.
- Provide pre- and post-procedural care, prepare patients, and use sterile technique.
- Adjust imaging technique to minimize ionizing radiation dose while maintaining image quality.
- Report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or service provider.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment according to infection-control policy and the department cleaning schedule.
- Explain examinations and procedures to patients and families, address questions and concerns, and notify physicians when concerns cannot be resolved.
- Participate in orientation and training of departmental employees.
- Complete required documentation and daily work assignments.
- Complete mandatory departmental and hospital-wide education.

- Send completed studies to the Picture Archiving and Communication System immediately and print CDs when needed.

- Restock linens and supplies and maintain the department in a clean, orderly condition.
- Transport and position patients and assist them on and off the procedure table.
- Perform patient charging activities on the day of service.
- Apply shielding, supportive devices, and immobilization equipment.
- Perform clerical and support duties when needed to ensure continuity and quality of services.
- Keep the supervisor informed about responsibilities and potential problems.
- Operate all workstations associated with the CT department.
- Push and retrieve images from the CT console to the Picture Archiving and Communication System.
- Maintain Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Take call when necessary.
- Perform other assigned duties.

Posted: Sep 17, 2026 / 05:29 PM EDT Updated: Sep 17, 2026 / 05:29 PM EDT AUGUSTA, Ga, (WJBF) - Hyundai presented a $400,000 check to the Wellstar Golisano Children's Hospital of Georgia on Thursday. Little patients who were there decorated a while Hyundai vehicle with their painted hand prints. The handprints represent the children who fought cancer and won, those fighting now, and those whose memories live on. Dr. Ted Johnson, a pediatrics professor at Augusta University, shared what the donation means for the fight against cancer. "They weren't cured with their upfront therapy and they essentially don't have options that are known to be curative for them, and that's where the research comes in is in providing the hope of new treatments that may make a big difference for them in the future," he said. "We are still in the fight to end childhood cancer," said Mike Donahue, senior regional manager of merchandising at Hyundai. "Again, you can mark our words right now we are here with you all the way to the end till no family ever has to hear the words you have cancer." (WRDW/WAGT) - Hyundai Hope on Wheels is giving a $400,000 grant to Wellstar Golisano Children's Hospital of Georgia for pediatric cancer research. The donation brings the group's total giving to the hospital to more than $1.8 million. Children battling cancer marked the moment by placing painted handprints on a Hyundai vehicle, a symbol of their fight for a cure. Doctor describes impact of funding. Dr. Theodore Johnson, a pediatric oncologist at Wellstar Golisano Children's Hospital, said more than 15,000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year in the U.S. His clinic treats children battling brain cancer who come from across the country for immunotherapy treatments. He said hope is what brings families to Augusta. "Hope that there may be a cure. Hope that they may slow down their disease, hope they can access normal activities of a childhood, birthdays, trips, seeing their friends, things we take for granted."" Johnson said. Johnson said the grant bridges the gap in funding, allowing the hospital to bring clinical treatments to children battling cancer. National totals. Wellstar plans to acquire another Georgia hospital. The system and Stephens County Hospital have reached an agreement on a deal, the latest in a busy period for Wellstar. The Wellstar Health System is looking to add another hospital to its portfolio, continuing the system's recent expansion efforts. Wellstar and Stephens County Hospital said Wednesday that they have reached an agreement on a deal. Assuming the deal is finalized, Stephens County Hospital would join Wellstar. Regulators still must approve the transaction, but Wellstar is expecting to complete the acquisition by the end of 2026. Stephens County is a 96-bed hospital in Toccoa, a city in northeast Georgia near the border of South Carolina. The hospital opened its doors in 1937. Ketul J. Patel, president and CEO of Wellstar, recognized the history and service of the hospital. "For Stephens County Hospital to serve its community so well for nearly a century requires exceptional talent, deep community trust and an unwavering commitment to its mission," Patel said in a statement. "We look forward to working together to build on the strong foundation already in place while creating new opportunities for the community through expanded access to specialized care, innovative services and the strength of an integrated health system," he said. Wellstar also opened a new hospital, the Columbia County Medical Center, last month. The six-story medical center includes 100 beds and is in Grovetown, near Augusta. Wellstar now operates 13 hospitals, and Stephens County Hospital would become the system's 14th hospital. In announcing the plans to acquire Stephens County Hospital, Wellstar said the deal reflects the system's strategy of "thoughtfully expanding access to high-quality healthcare across Georgia by investing in strong community hospitals and connecting them to one of the Southeast's leading health systems." "It builds on Wellstar's strategic growth across the state, enabling clinical expertise, advanced technology and best practices to be shared across communities while improving access to care closer to home," Wellstar said in. Wellstar says the system will provide Stephens County Hospital patients more access to top clinicians, including specialists, and the system also touted its telehealth services. Wellstar has partnered with the hospital in tele-stroke services. Stephens County Hospital employs about 500 workers, and it has a medical staff of nearly 200 doctors and advanced practice providers. Van Loskoski, CEO of Stephens County Hospital, said becoming part of Wellstar helps ensure access to care for its communities in northern Georgia. "By joining Wellstar, we believe we can build on our strong relationships with patients, families and local physicians, while expanding access to specialized services and investing in the hospital's long-term future, so more people can receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time," Loskoski said in a statement. Wellstar also noted Stephens County Hospital has expanded surgical, orthopedic, and cardiovascular services in recent years. Georgia is seeing a host of planned hospital projects.
