Responsibilities
  • The Graphic Designer is responsible for the visual design and layout of the field guides, ensuring that they are user-friendly and visually appealing
  • This role includes creating high-quality images, diagrams, and charts that help users identify cultural resources in the field
  • The designer also ensures that the guides adhere to USDA's branding and design standards, contributing to their overall effectiveness as a field resource
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years’ experience in graphic design, including creating and printing booklets and publications
  • Experience in layout design for print publications
  • Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Creative thinking and attention to detail; Ability to interpret and implement design briefs effectively; Strong understanding of branding and visual communication principles
  • Advanced with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word; Proficient with Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio; Ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary
  • Commitment to work with smart, interesting people with diverse backgrounds to solve challenges across sectors
