About the job
- Seven or more years of experience in network administration and support.
- A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
- Security+ certification is required.
- One of the following certifications is required: Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer, Palo Alto Next Generation Firewall, Palo Alto Networks Cybersecurity Associate, or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Professional.
- Experience with enterprise Department of Defense boundary protection and Cybersecurity Service Provider operations is required.
- Extensive experience with enterprise-level network architectures and configurations is required.
- Ability to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions is required.
- Experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution is required.
- Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems is required.
- The applicant must be a United States citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information access.
- Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Solid customer service and communication skills, including the ability and willingness to communicate effectively and appropriately in an empathetic and understanding manner, are required.
- Install, monitor, configure, troubleshoot, upgrade, patch, harden, maintain, and operate intrusion detection and prevention systems, firewalls, load balancers, and web proxies to protect Air Force Network resources from internal and external threats according to Department of Defense security standards.
- Perform complex analytics on boundary protection systems to protect system assets from compromise, data loss, and other requirements.
- Perform Defensive Cyber Operations and Department of Defense Information Network operations.
