  • Active, in-scope U.S. Government-issued Secret clearance eligibility is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience performing administrative maintenance on server operating systems is required.
  • A NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Data Center, VMware Certified Associate (VCA), Microsoft Certified Solution Associate (MCSA), or equivalent certification is required.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day management, operation, maintenance, and administration of communications and IT systems and services in production, development, exercise, and training environments; perform preventive, remedial, and corrective maintenance to keep equipment and systems operating fully without service degradation.
  • Provide systems administration support for C2 communications servers, clients, and applications, including WAVE, CT-II, Mako, and TransVerse/MXPP.
  • Install, patch, upgrade, tune, optimize, and repair hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, and databases, to maintain optimal performance.
  • Operate and maintain equipment and systems through their demarcation points, and coordinate with and assist external entities in troubleshooting beyond those points during outages as required.
  • Establish trend analysis to ensure equipment, systems, and services meet operational availability, reliability, and survivability requirements, including end-to-end backup and recovery.
  • Identify hardware, software, and service shortfalls and recommend optimizations to the government technical representative.
  • Schedule, coordinate, perform, and record preventive maintenance inspections on communications and IT systems and associated hardware in accordance with manufacturer manuals, government technical orders, and USAFCENT Special Instructions—Communications (SPIN-C).
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance when equipment repair or service restoration is required.
  • Monitor equipment and systems for warnings, faults, alarms, and outages, and provide fault isolation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and restoration services.
  • Identify sources of conditions, degradation, or outages and implement corrective actions and repairs to restore affected equipment, systems, or services to full operational capability.
  • Design, write, modify, and implement software programs and applications.
  • Develop glueware to support operational client applications and security patches.
  • Provide Tier 2 technical support.
  • Install, configure, operate, manage, troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, inspect, and maintain physical and virtual server systems, including administration of core and functional services.
  • Manage and administer user accounts, profiles, and access.
  • Monitor user access and compliance with established policies and procedures to maintain a secure operating environment.
  • Monitor workstation and server logs for errors and failures, and perform appropriate troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Provide technical assistance for assigned projects.
  • Provide desktop, server, and software application integration support.
  • Operate and maintain monitoring and analysis tools, and detect, analyze, and resolve platform, infrastructure, and system problems.
  • Perform other duties as required.
