Laurent Rousseau appointed Head of International for Marsh Re. Marsh, a global professional services firm, has announced the appointment of Laurent Rousseau as Head of International, Marsh Re, effective immediately. In this expanded role, based in London, Rousseau will lead Marsh Re's Asia, Pacific, Latin America and Caribbean regions in addition to Europe and IMEA. He will also retain global leadership of Capital and Advisory, and work alongside Marsh Re's regional leaders to deliver the firm's capabilities to clients in this complex risk environment. Rousseau will continue to report to Dean Klisura, President and CEO, Marsh Re, who commented: "Laurent is an exceptional leader with deep reinsurance expertise, a global perspective, and a strong understanding of the evolving needs of its clients. "His leadership across our international regions will further strengthen how we deliver the full breadth of Marsh's reinsurance expertise and solutions to clients." Rousseau brings over 25 years of investment banking and reinsurance experience to his new position, having initially joined the company following a 13-year tenure at SCOR. During his time at SCOR, he held leadership roles of increasing responsibility, eventually becoming Chief Executive Officer of the French reinsurer. The executive started his career as an insurance equity research associate at Credit Suisse First Boston before moving to JP Morgan's Mergers & Acquisitions Financial Institutions Group in London. Commenting on his recent appointment, Rousseau said: "Today's risk environment demands both deep local expertise and a truly global perspective. I look forward to working with our international teams to build on our strong foundation and bring the tailored reinsurance, capital, and advisory solutions clients need to confidently navigate today's increasingly complex global risk landscape."

AIA Australia appoints new Chief Retail Insurance Officer. August 25, 2026 AIA Australia has appointed Paula Bourke as its new Chief Retail Insurance Officer, which the insurer says reflects its continued focus on delivering sustainable growth and strengthening support for its advice partners and customers. Bourke will lead AIA Australia's Retail leadership team "...bringing together the organisation's retail product, pricing, distribution and retention functions as part of a broader strategy to drive quality growth and enhance customer and adviser outcomes." CEO and Managing Director Damien Mu says Bourke's appointment marks an important milestone in the company's Retail growth strategy, noting she is a highly respected leader with deep expertise across life insurance, reinsurance, product innovation and business transformation. "Her breadth of experience, customer focus and proven ability to lead high-performing teams make her exceptionally well placed to lead our Retail business as we continue to grow and evolve." ...The new structure of the Retail team represents an important step in delivering the firm's strategy... AIA says she has led growth and transformation initiatives, developed digital and AI-enabled propositions, supported product and pricing strategy, and built strong partnerships across insurers, advisers, superannuation funds, distribution partners and regulators. Bourke says she's excited to join AIA Australia at a pivotal time for both the business and the life insurance industry. AIA Australia also acknowledged "the significant and impactful contributions" of Stephanie Phillips and Pina Sciarrone, who will be leaving the organisation at the end of September. Swiss Re appoints UK, Ireland and MEA head of life and health from Scor. Swiss Re has appointed Damien Bartlett as head of its life and health market unit for UK and Ireland and Middle East and Africa. The appointment will take effect 1 November 2026. Bartlett replaces Tamas Bown, who has taken on the role of Swiss Re's head of market unit Asia Pacific excluding China. He is joined by Karen Tan as chief underwriting officer for L&H Re, effective 1 October 2026. Tan will continue to be based in Singapore and will relocate to Zurich in due course. Bartlett joins Swiss Re from Scor, where he held a number of senior leadership roles, having started his career there in 2001. Most recently was Scor's global head in-force management, head strategy and COO for life and health. Prior to this, he was regional CEO for EMEA & Canada and previously led Scor's UK, Ireland, South Africa, Canada and Australia markets. Tan is currently the chief risk officer of L&H Re. She has served in several leadership roles at Swiss Re, including head of life and health products Asia and chief risk officer for Asia Pacific. She was previously chief actuary of Zurich Life in Switzerland, and led Zurich Insurance Group's global life risk analysis department.
