ProSidian Seeks a Fire Protection Engineer / Fire Protection Program Improvement Support Specialist - Engineering headquartered near Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina to support an engagement for Nuclear Energy Sector Clients The Savannah River Site (SRS), a 310 square mile (198,046 acres) Department of Energy site, is located in the sand-hills region of South Carolina. It encompasses parts of Aiken, Barnwell and Allendale counties and is bordered on the west by the Savannah River and Georgia. SRS is close to several cities, including Augusta, Georgia and Columbia, South Carolina. It is also within a few hours of Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Greenville and Charlotte. 

This *** | Exempt position currently best aligns with the Fire Protection Engineer / Fire Protection Program Improvement Support Specialist EN 102 Labor Category and ideal candidates exhibit the ability to visualize, analyze, and convert data and experiences to meet performance challenges while confidently engaging in productive “Jugaad” and dialogue targeting mission success.  ProSidian Team Members work to provide temporary staffing support services to support Savannah River Remediation (SRR), the Liquid Waste (LW) Contractor located at the Department of Energy Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC 29808.  Services anticipated includes storage, integration, treatment and disposition of the liquid radioactive waste being managed at the Savannah River Site (DOE).

Fire Protection Engineer / Fire Protection Program Improvement Support Specialist - Engineering Candidates shall work to support requirements for 0 and The Fire Protection Engineer / Fire Protection Program Improvement Support Specialist EN 102 primary purpose of this position is to perform internal fire protection related assessments and observations; analyze the results of both internal and external fire protection related assessments; and work with Fire Protection Engineers (FPE), Design Authority Engineers (DAE) and Facility Operations personnel to effect resolutions to identified issues, gaps and vulnerabilities in the Fire Protection Program.

• Analyze, review, assess, and extract relevant information from assessments, program documents, procedures and technical reports with little or no supervision
• Support development, maintenance, and administration of Fire Protection related databases regarding S/RID and NFPA requirements including, but not limited to, the Fire Protection Database System
• Perform Causal Analyses using CST and other assessment related sources to assist in effectively designing and implementing both root cause based remediation and pro-active based resolution
• Work with FPEs, DAEs and Operations personnel to revise/develop procedures, revise/develop training protocol and to develop/recommend other implementation actions as needed to support compliance with DOE-STD-1066-2012 and Site Manual 2Q.

Qualifications

The Fire Protection Engineer / Fire Protection Program Improvement Support Specialist - Engineering shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.  Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. All employees, in the performance of their respective responsibilities, shall conduct themselves in the highest possible standards of ethical and business conduct.  The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.

Requisite work experience and technical skills to fulfill the roles and responsibilities of the Fire Protection Program Improvement Support Specialist s working and performing tasks in the Energy Industry (Oil and Gas / Power and Utilities / Nuclear Energy)

• Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in Business, Communications, Education or Engineering, with 10 years equivalent experience in project / technical support or document /configuration control in / nuclear/chemical facilities/environment.       
• Candidate must be familiar with electronic document control and configuration management systems (e.g. SRS Linking Document Database (LDD) or Fire Protection Database System (FPDS))
• Candidate must have prior experience with S/RID requirements (e.g. Safety Basis) implementation at SRS.
• Candidate must have prior QA auditor experience
• Candidate must have prior Causal Analysis experience
• Candidate must have Conduct of Operations training
• Candidate must have Operational Readiness Review or comparable experience.
• Candidate must have interpersonal skills so as to establish and cultivate positive working relationships and interfaces with both internal and external customers
• Candidate must be fluent in the use of Microsoft Word/Excel/Power Point

A 40 hour work week schedule is anticipated for this position. SRR utilizes various work schedules; including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). A 4/10 schedule is preferred. Work week excludes SRR holidays. Standard Facilities Access required but a security clearance is not currently required for this position

TRAVEL:  Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements.  Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.  LOCATION:  Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina

• U.S.  Citizenship Required - You must be a United States Citizen
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (This employer participates in the e-Verify program)
