Requirements
  • Completion of a high school diploma plus a formal certificate program or specialized courses.
  • A Class 5 Driver’s License with a clear driving record.
  • A minimum of two years of related experience.
  • Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including Tuesday to Saturday hours during the Kettle Campaign.
  • Ability to work in office and community settings and travel locally during the Kettle Campaign.
  • Ability to work in compliance with health and safety regulations and The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to make and communicate decisions and work collaboratively.
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, scheduling ability, and daily problem-solving capability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technological skills using Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
  • High integrity, judgment, confidentiality, and trustworthy management of funds.
  • Patience and ability to de-escalate situations.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct oversight of the Ministry Unit’s annual Christmas Kettle Campaign in collaboration with the Manager of Integrated Mission and the Kettle Campaign Committee.
  • Assist with recruitment and selection of Kettle team members.
  • Provide orientation and ongoing supervision to Kettle team members, including drivers, kettle hosts, employees, and volunteers.
  • Plan and lead Kettle orientation and training sessions with support from other staff members.
  • Grow the volunteer base for the Kettle Campaign and deploy volunteers effectively.
  • Communicate regularly by phone with volunteers, host sites, workers, and community partners.
  • Coordinate schedules for kettle hosts and respond to emergencies and absences.
  • Troubleshoot kettle schedules to ensure maximum coverage and achieve campaign goals.
  • Create, order, secure, and stock needed Kettle Campaign supplies at locations on a daily or as-needed basis.
  • Request required insurance certificates for kettle locations and provide them to official contacts at those locations.
  • Oversee relationships with host locations and coordinate campaign scheduling.
  • Ensure appropriate thanks is extended to supporting organizations during the Campaign.
  • Order, receive, implement, pack, and return Tip Tap machines within the specified deadline.
  • Coordinate delivery, setup, and takedown of kettle stands, buckets, and Tip Tap machines.
  • Coordinate daily drop-offs and pickups of all kettles and buckets according to established schedules.
  • Record statistical data and timesheets for income reporting and payroll functions.
  • Perform other job-related duties required to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • First Aid Level 1 training.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training.
  • Previous fundraising experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with and leading volunteers.
  • Experience using Salesforce for managing volunteers.
