About the job
- A Bachelor's or Post Graduate Degree in accounting or finance with 6–8 years of experience in accounts payable and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel and the ability to quickly learn new enterprise resource planning or business intelligence tools.
- Good knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Flexibility to take on different assignments and not limit oneself to specific activities.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Complete general ledger coding for non-purchase-order project-related purchases and amounts exceeding purchase orders.
- Complete general ledger coding for non-purchase-order, non-project-related purchases.
- Post non-billable vendor invoices and credit memos.
- Support external and internal vendor invoice dispute resolution upon request.
- Monitor non-approved invoices and send reminders to ensure timely posting.
- Review travel and expense claims for compliance with group policies, ensure timely posting, and maintain file documentation.
- Support travel and expense approvals, assist employees with queries, and process cash advances.
- Submit non-billable rush payment requests to the Shared Service Centre.
- Create non-billable job numbers and maintain the internal management job sheet for all agencies.
- Review and post monthly manual journal entries.
- Calculate and post monthly recurring expense accruals.
- Review and prepare monthly reclassifications for debit accounts payable and/or negative accounts receivable.
- Prepare monthly accounts payable aging reports with commentary.
- Participate in external and internal audit schedules.
- Respond to external and internal questions upon request.
- Prepare and distribute the Late Purchase Order report and Job Close report.
- Support the freelance process, including coding and processing invoices and setting up freelancers in the system.
- Assist with preparing ISRs and completing intercompany billings on time.
- Prepare and submit national statistics.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX, MediaOcean, and Hyperion Financial Management.
- Knowledge of general ledger and accounts payable.
- Experience in finance operations.
