Requirements
  • An upper-secondary school diploma, technical degree, or equivalent practical experience in manufacturing shopfloor operations is required.
  • A university degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Formal training certification in Lean, World Class Manufacturing, or similar methodologies is preferred.
  • Experience in shopfloor operations with demonstrated capability in leading small teams of approximately 5–10 operators is required.
  • Demonstrated success implementing improvement initiatives at the line level is required.
  • Hands-on experience with safety and quality compliance, problem solving, and resolving technical issues within a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes and dynamics is required.
  • Familiarity with operating equipment, basic maintenance processes, and production scheduling systems is required.
  • Familiarity with Daily Management Systems and Lean tools is required.
  • Understanding of cost drivers, an analytical approach to identifying key gaps, and the ability to manage a departmental budget are required.
  • Ability to lead multiple teams and communicate clearly at all levels is required.
  • Ability to plan and execute cell-wide initiatives and align resources with business objectives is required.
  • Skill in coaching and developing Line Leaders and high-potential talent is required.
Responsibilities
  • Deploy and track operational targets for the production cell and production lines.
  • Lead daily performance meetings, set priorities, and ensure resource alignment.
  • Drive safety and quality compliance by conducting audits and resolving gaps.
  • Foster team development, manage staffing, and promote accountability.
  • Ensure production schedule adherence and smooth material flow.
  • Implement cost-reduction initiatives and monitor budget compliance.
  • Support innovation projects, including new product launches and technology integration.
  • Maintain accountability for the Safety, Quality, People, Delivery, Cost, and Innovation results of the production cell, which includes multiple lines.
  • Focus on loss elimination across the entire cell, remove barriers for Line Leaders, and ensure each line achieves its business results in a Manufacturing Excellence environment.
