About the job

Requirements
  • Demonstrate product taste, especially in user interface and user experience, copy, and artificial intelligence failure modes.
  • Show customer obsession by actively seeking feedback and closely monitoring usage data.
  • Be willing to take on varied tasks and prioritize outcomes over ego.
  • Be technically capable of reading a pull request, navigating an enterprise resource planning schema, and debugging an integration; be comfortable using coding agents and learning new concepts as needed.
  • Be energized by an evolving role and a fast-changing company environment.
Responsibilities
  • Own multiple live customer deployments end-to-end, from post-sale design through go-live and stabilization.
  • Own relationships with VP-level stakeholders throughout deployment journeys.
  • Translate client realities into plans and strategy; coordinate daily with engineering and sales, converting client needs into engineering priorities and deployment context into deal strategy.
  • Run user onboarding and training sessions and build supporting materials.
  • Convert pilots into full deployments and maintain stakeholder engagement through visits and other relationship-building efforts.
  • Track usage across deployments and run reactivation sessions when engagement drops.
  • Own the sequencing cadence for product work across building, selling, deploying, and customer retention.
  • Identify what creates customer value and translate it into specific, buildable product features.
  • Automate processes, including the role's own work.
  • Own the demo flow in partnership with engineering and ship prospect-specific and vertical demos.
  • Document deployment processes and lessons learned, then prepare to hire and build a team of forward-deployed engineers and software engineers to execute from playbooks.
  • Hire continuously to address engineering capacity constraints on sales.
  • Map customer enterprise resource planning data models, configure artificial intelligence agents against customer catalogs, train customer inside-sales teams, and manage executive relationships during deployments.
  • Build and iterate on demo environments that use prospects' own stock-keeping-unit data, using close-rate feedback.
  • Diagnose declining customer usage and visit customer sites to resolve issues.
  • Write product requirements documents, ship product features with engineering, and deploy them to customers.
  • Build internal tooling that delegates repetitive deployment tasks to coding agents.

About the company

Faction Technology builds driverless electric vehicle fleets and autonomous mobility tools for urban logistics and last-mile delivery. Its DriveLink platform integrates data streams and safety features to enable driverless operation, while TeleAssist provides remote human oversight to intervene in complex situations, forming a supervised-autonomy hybrid approach. The company uses right-sized, three-wheeled EVs and partners with manufacturers like Arcimoto to integrate its software with clients’ order and fleet-management systems for cost-effective fleets. Its goal is to offer a readily deployable alternative to full autonomy that reduces urban congestion and supports last-mile and vehicle-on-demand services.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Faction raised $4 million in 2026, backing expansion across industrial distributors.
  • Faction claims deployment in under four weeks with 95%+ product-matching accuracy.
  • Its August 2026 site says 100M+ components and 24/7 voice coverage reduce labor.

What critics are saying

  • Faction’s 2026 pivot from autonomy to distributor AI signals unstable strategy and branding.
  • Incumbents like SAP, Oracle, Epicor, and Infor can bundle similar automation.
  • Bad quote or collections automation can trigger customer losses and litigation within months.

What makes Faction unique

  • Faction now sells distributor AI, not driverless vehicles, spanning quote-to-cash workflows.
  • Its platform plugs into ERP, CRM, inbox, phone, PIM, and supplier portals.
  • Voice agents use live ERP data for order status, collections, and follow-ups.

Faction Raises $4M to Accelerate AI Agent Tech for Distributors

Faction raises $4M to accelerate AI agent tech for distributors. The startup said the funding will accelerate development of its product suite - including its AI voice technology which manages inbound/outbound calls. Faction, a startup that partners with industrial distributors to automate core workflows, raised $4 million in a seed funding round to expand its AI agent technology. Hidden Capital led the investment, with participation from 640 Oxford, a fund focused on reindustrialization, and Liquid2. Faction, which serves mid-market and enterprise distributors across the U.S. in industrial verticals such as PVF, HVAC, packaging and safety. The San Francisco-based startup's platform uses AI agents to automate workflows - from quoting and pricing, to sourcing and collections. Faction said the funding will accelerate development of its product suite - including its AI voice technology which manages inbound and outbound calls - and enable it to meet surging demand for AI solutions from industrial distributors across the U.S. "Implementing AI is now the biggest competitive advantage for distributors to serve customers better, improve margins, and capture market share," Faction Co-Founder and CEO Kunal Barman told MDM. "The surge in demand we've seen this year underscores how forward-thinking distributors are in seeking an AI partner and platform that works across their business. Distributors are the beating heart of the physical economy - and our mission is to empower them with AI for the decade ahead."
