Tack and Pet Associate
About the job
- Prior customer-facing role experience and knowledge in tack and pet fields are ideal qualifications.
- Open availability is required, including the ability to work scheduled shifts between Monday and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; shifts may include weekends and certain holidays, with scheduling flexibility based on business needs.
- Previous merchandising experience is helpful.
- Working knowledge of small and large animals in vaccines, feed and livestock equipment, and general animal health is required.
- Ability to educate and assist customers on the brands sold by North 40.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Understanding of correct lifting and loading techniques, and physical ability to lift and carry 0–15 pounds continuously, 15–50 pounds frequently, and 50–55 pounds occasionally; team lifting is required for anything over 55 pounds.
- Ability to spend 100% of work time on one's feet, including using ladders, rolling staircases, and pallet jacks.
- Ability to work independently or in a group setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively and engage with individuals regularly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining detailed and focused.
- Provide outstanding customer service, generate sales, and suggest products.
- Stock and merchandise the department.
- Maintain a clean and organized department.
