About the job
- U.S. citizenship is required, and the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance; an active Secret or Top Secret security clearance also satisfies this requirement.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Zero to four years of experience in software engineering, application development, or a related field.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, a modern front-end framework such as React.js, and a basic understanding of Node.js and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with Git, version-control workflows, and fundamental software development practices.
- Ability to learn, collaborate, receive feedback, and work with mentorship from senior team members.
- Write clean, well-documented code to support full-stack application and feature development.
- Assist with implementing and testing small, well-defined user interface and API features under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Support senior engineers in troubleshooting and resolving software defects and technical issues.
- Write and maintain unit tests and participate in peer code reviews to support software quality and build familiarity with team development practices.
- Learn and apply established coding standards, development tools, workflows, and documentation practices.
- Develop familiarity with the team's domain, codebase, and Modern Disability Claims systems to support ongoing development efforts.
- Coursework, internship, or project experience involving full-stack software development.
- Exposure to MERN or PERN stack technologies, including MongoDB, Express.js, and PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Familiarity with healthcare, claims, or other regulated data environments.
