About the company

Lunewave makes radar and antenna systems around Luneburg lens technology for automotive, telecom, aerospace, and robotics. Its main product is a 76–81 GHz automotive radar sensor built around a 3D-printed spherical Luneburg lens with more than 6,500 chambers, delivering a 360-degree view with high resolution and long range. This design lets a few sensors replace many traditional radars, reducing complex sensor suites and cost while maintaining performance in difficult weather. The company aims to enable safer autonomous driving and stronger communications infrastructure by providing high-resolution, wide-field radar and antenna solutions.

What believers are saying

  • March 17, 2026 added a $2.0 million SBIR Phase II sensor award.
  • August 2026 hiring for validation engineers signals active product testing and deployment work.
  • 2026 website updates cite NVIDIA DRIVE support and joint-development wins with OEMs.

What critics are saying

  • Revenue disappears after February 25, 2026, when the Army SBIR award ends.
  • Lunewave still lists only Tucson engineering jobs, not scaled manufacturing or sales.
  • If OEMs delay production nominations, Lunewave remains a lab-scale sensor supplier.

What makes Lunewave unique

  • Lunewave’s 3D-printed Luneburg lens packs 6,500 chambers into golf-ball-sized radars.
  • Its 2026 radar architecture supports NVIDIA DRIVE and OEM joint-development programs.
  • The company spans automotive, telecom, aerospace, and robotics with one sensing platform.
