Job Details:
Purpose
Seeking to hire 1-2 undergraduate students to assist in a computational analysis of bacterial genomes, metagenomes and microbiomes.
Responsibilities
This position involves the processing and analysis of large-scale, publicly available genomic resources.
Required Qualifications
Students seeking this position must be reliable, self-motivated and intellectually curious, with a strong interest and expertise in bioinformatics and computational biology.
Experience with programming and informatic analysis is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Desired, but not required, skills include knowledge of sequence databases and working with genomic data.
Applicants need to be meticulous, well-organized, and able to keep up-to-date records.
Hourly Rate
$15.00/hour
Working Conditions
May work around standard office conditions.
Students may be exposed to honeybees in lab spaces.
Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished).
May work around chemical fumes.
