About the Job

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in SoC power and performance validation and/or digital logic and optimization.
  • At least 1 year of experience developing and/or optimizing power/performance KPIs and/or circuit design trade-offs for power, performance, and area.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
  • Unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico; visa or immigration sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute SoC-level power delivery, Power Rails Stress (PRS), maximum current (ICCmax), current transient (di/dt), minimum/maximum voltage (Vmin/Vmax), Digital Linear Voltage Regulator (DLVR)/Fully Integrated Voltage Regulator (FIVR), and concurrency plans, including feasibility studies; design, verify, and simulate the Power Distribution Network (PDN); and sign off IR-drop/Electromigration (IR/EM) metrics across Intel products.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, firmware, software, Power Management architects, and layout teams to ensure power delivery meets targets and specifications and to define and implement power-gating solutions.
  • Establish and execute methodologies for validating hardware/software optimizations and converging design on PDN metrics, aligned with business KPIs.
  • Perform SoC-level debugging to identify root causes and resolve functional and triage failures related to power delivery, on-die power grid/network, thermal performance, and performance.
  • Configure and set up data loggers to collect and analyze power and thermal data, and work with the package integration team to ensure the complete IP system meets design specifications.
  • Develop and maintain validation infrastructure, including performance monitors, behavioral checkers, and testing environments; work with the post-silicon debug team to triage, debug, and fix potential PDN issues.
  • Produce validation reports summarizing activities and results and communicate findings with relevant teams.
  • Drive continuous improvements to validation strategies, methodologies, and processes.

Desired Qualifications

  • A master's degree.
  • Experience debugging SoC-level power, thermal, and performance failures.
  • Power Delivery design, implementation, and validation experience for high-performance and low-power designs.
  • Knowledge of hardware/software optimizations for power and performance.
  • Knowledge of low-power implementation techniques.
  • Experience with SoC-level debugging using Joint Test Action Group (JTAG) debuggers.
  • Familiarity with validation tools such as data acquisition/loggers, behavioral checkers, and state-space coverage techniques.
  • Familiarity with system board design/debugging and use of laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Experience setting up Power Delivery Integrity (PDI) validation infrastructure.
  • Experience with the Python programming language.

About the Company

Intel

Pioneers microprocessors, CPUs for PCs

Intel designs and manufactures semiconductor chips, with a focus on microprocessors for personal computers, servers, and other devices. Its core product is the CPU on a single silicon chip, which executes instructions, handles arithmetic and logic operations, and coordinates the work of other computer components. Intel originated in memory chips but shifted decisively to microprocessors in the 1980s, becoming a central supplier for the PC era after the IBM partnership and its famous x86 processor line. This shift, large-scale manufacturing, and close ties with computer makers set Intel apart from competitors who remained focused on memory or other components. The company aims to power computing by delivering high-performance, energy-efficient silicon solutions that drive a wide range of computing devices and applications.
