Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university and less than 2 years of experience in an analytical position or a comparable role, such as corrective action, issue management, operational analysis, or statistical analysis; alternatively, a high school diploma or GED and 4 or more years of combined education and/or experience in a comparable analytical role.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Knowledge of Department of Energy assurance requirements, self-assessments, causal analysis, corrective actions, lessons learned, requirements flowdown, metrics, and trending.
  • Demonstrated independence, analytical rigor, facilitation, credible challenge, written communication, and continuous improvement capabilities.
Responsibilities
  • Obtain safety training, follow safety rules, make safety integral to each task, and stop work when an activity is unsafe or could create an unsafe condition.
  • Execute, with guidance, assigned Contractor Assurance System activities to monitor the effectiveness of environment, safety and health; quality assurance; integrated safety management; safeguards and security; cybersecurity; and emergency management.
  • Develop expertise in at least one of these elements: requirements flowdown and procedure implementation, assessment activities, causal analysis and corrective actions, lessons learned, employee engineering management, or trending and performance measures.
  • Research solutions to ineffective or noncompliant situations to support compliance.
  • Review Contractor Assurance processes to verify their integration with company Enterprise Risk Management processes.
  • Learn company-level policies and procedures aligned with Department of Energy orders and directives to develop compliance and clarification skills.
  • Support trend analysis and improvement actions in Contractor Assurance or performance-related programs.
  • Develop skills to evaluate improvements using effectiveness metrics and enhance oversight of related functions.
  • Become familiar with the organization's corrective action and causal analysis program elements.
  • Assist in monitoring improvement plans intended to enhance the effectiveness of requirements flowing down to site and organization procedures.
  • Administer and provide leadership and technical guidance for planning, executing, and reporting contractor assurance requirements defined by the Department of Energy.
  • Support effective assurance systems, rigorous risk-informed and credible self-assessment and feedback improvement activities, and a structured issues management system.
Desired Qualifications
  • Relevant experience in the nuclear and environmental management sector; functional and technical area expertise is also desirable.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and excellent technical writing skills.
  • Experience with corrective action, issue management, operational analysis, or statistical analysis.
