Requirements
  • A high school diploma plus a minimum of three years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of related experience and relevant education.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Department of Energy clearance.
  • United States citizenship is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • A basic understanding of Voice over Internet Protocol technology.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute network installations in accordance with customer orders, technical specifications, and industry standards.
  • Analyze installation requirements, order and gather necessary equipment, supplies, and tools, and assess installation sites to ensure successful deployments.
  • Prepare installation diagrams; establish voice and data networks by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; and install telecommunications equipment such as routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays, and alarm and fire-suppression systems.
  • Build ironwork and ladder racks, activate remote access tools, and coordinate with contractors to ensure seamless integration of systems.
  • Verify service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; identify and correct issues or escalate them as necessary.
  • Document and label equipment and cables, record configuration diagrams and specifications, and maintain a safe work environment by adhering to codes, standards, and legal regulations.
  • Use the customer's ticketing system to track and update all work performed.
  • Adhere to the customer's best practices and procedures when installing cabling and equipment.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecommunications equipment; provide reports; complete requests for new service; and determine the methodology for installing telephone services.
  • Contribute to the overall success of telecommunications projects by ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Edgewater wins IT managed services contract with Argonne National Laboratory.

Edgewater wins IT managed services contract with Argonne National Laboratory. Edgewater Federal Solutions has won a 5-year contract to be the IT managed service provider for Argonne National Laboratory. Argonne is operated by UChicago Argonne, LLC, for the Energy Department. The 1,500-acre campus employs over 4,500 people, including approximately 1,600 scientists and engineers. Under the contract, Edgewater will deliver comprehensive managed IT services to support Argonne's critical research mission across energy, environment, national security and STEM disciplines, the company said. "We are honored to partner with Argonne National Laboratory in support of its vital research mission," said Rodger Jones, Energy+ president of Edgewater Federal Solutions. "This award expands our footprint across the DOE's national laboratory complex. Our growing presence in this space underscores our commitment to delivering secure, reliable, and mission-focused IT services that enable scientific discovery at the highest level." Edgewater's services include service desk operations, on-site and remote end-user support, integrated IT and audio-visual services, and management of Argonne's ITSM platform to provide a scalable, flexible and resilient hybrid support model.
