Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a daily devotional and prayer life.
  • Participate weekly in Corps worship services.
  • Work with the Corps Officers, YPSM, and Social Services Coordinator to ensure programming excellence in youth ministries.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with all persons in accordance with The Salvation Army's practices and policies.
  • Coordinate and implement evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development for young people involved in corps programs, including opportunities for new ministry initiatives.
  • Plan and implement recruitment, leadership development, and training opportunities to increase the quality and effectiveness of volunteer staff.
  • Maintain regular contact with and visitation of youth activity participants and their families.
  • Provide leadership and support for youth Sunday School classes, Corps cadets, and youth Bible study ministries.
  • Provide leadership and support for youth activities such as Junior soldiers, Corps cadets, Bible Bowl, music programs, Vacation Bible School, Level UP! programs, and other activities.
  • Recruit, coordinate, and transport children attending programs, camp, Youth Councils, young adult gatherings, and divisional events.
  • Maintain attendance records and program statistics as required.
  • Maintain a clean work and program area.
  • Maintain youth programming throughout the program year as directed by the Corps Officers.
  • Attend all required training opportunities.
  • Assist with Christmas ministries programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A uniform-wearing Salvationist is preferred.
  • Musical ability is preferred but not required.
