Responsibilities
Provide daily care and management for donkeys, including feeding, grooming, exercising, and monitoring behavior and physical condition.
Work with veterinarians, trainers, and other staff to maintain clean living conditions and support herd welfare.
Administer medications and basic first aid under veterinary guidance.
Clean stalls, paddocks, and equipment to maintain sanitary conditions.
Keep accurate records of feeding, health, and behavior.
Assist with training and enrichment activities for the donkeys.
Assist with facility maintenance.
Participate in educational programs or demonstrations as needed.
Provide friendly and informative interactions with visitors during tours or events.
The Donkey Handler is responsible for the daily care and management of our donkeys, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. This role involves feeding, grooming, and exercising the animals, as well as monitoring their behavior and physical condition for any signs of illness or distress. The Donkey Handler will work closely with veterinarians, trainers, and other staff to maintain clean living conditions and to support the overall welfare of the herd. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and possess a genuine affection for animals.
In addition to daily animal care, the Donkey Handler will be expected to assist with facility maintenance and participate in educational programs or demonstrations as needed. Key responsibilities include:
