  • A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer science, or a science field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of how modern software is built and shipped, including agile at scale, continuous integration and continuous delivery, and release planning, with the ability to challenge an engineering plan.
  • Daily use of generative artificial intelligence and agents, and experience helping a team or organization change how it works with artificial intelligence, with measurable results.
  • Experience holding more senior people accountable for commitments without reporting authority while maintaining their trust.
  • Ability to build and interpret delivery metrics such as DORA, flow, and predictability, and act on them before delivery dates slip.
  • Experience delivering across a global, matrixed organization and multiple time zones.
  • Structured thinking, concise writing, and business judgment, including the ability to turn complex situations into one-page decision memos and sound business cases.
Responsibilities
  • Own the Productivity Solutions Division's transformation end to end, including migration of products onto the shared platform, changes to ways of working, the integrated plan and its dependencies and risks, and delivered value.
  • Work with the Enterprise Project Management Office and Program Management Center of Excellence to establish transformation reporting standards and maintain a live dashboard fed by engineering and delivery data as the single status source.
  • Identify and remove approvals, meetings, and reports that slow teams down while retaining quality and compliance gates.
  • Drive artificial intelligence adoption across software development, planning, and operations by piloting tools, measuring adoption and impact, scaling effective approaches, and stopping ineffective ones.
  • Establish an artificial-intelligence-first operating rhythm using artificial intelligence and agents to automate status reporting, meeting synthesis, and risk signals.
  • Include the division's artificial intelligence initiatives, including artificial intelligence in its products, on the integrated plan with owners, milestones, and value, and prepare the general manager's artificial intelligence updates for executives.
  • Run the division's operating rhythm, including weekly staff meetings, quarterly reviews, and planning, ensuring decisions have owners and dates.
  • Identify risks through delivery, quality, and dependency data and raise issues early enough for action.
  • Assess status against agreed criteria, including reporting red status when warranted, and require leaders to address the evidence.
  • Require an owner and date for recovery plans when commitments are at risk, and escalate unresolved issues to the general manager with a recommendation.
  • Work with CrossLab Group leadership, business divisions whose instruments use the software, the Transformation Office, and Finance, Human Resources, and Quality partners to resolve cross-boundary issues at the lowest appropriate level.
  • Partner with Finance and Human Resources on headcount, requisitions, budget versus actuals, and vendor spend, and run the division's internal communications cadence.
  • Prepare the general manager for executive, steering-committee, and customer engagements, and undertake projects chartered by the general manager with agreed scope and capacity.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle, technology platforms, the life-science domain, artificial intelligence transformation, laboratory informatics, or regulated (GxP) software.
  • Prior experience in a chief of staff, technical program management, or engineering operations role at a software or technology company.
  • Experience leading an artificial intelligence adoption or engineering-productivity program across multiple teams.

Agilent to buy digital pathology firm Proscia for $240M in cash

Agilent Technologies Inc. agreed to buy Proscia, a digital pathology software provider, in an all-cash deal valued at $240 million at closing. Proscia's founders could earn up to $30 million more if it meets future performance milestones. Proscia's software connects slide scanners, laboratory systems, and AI tools in one platform. It serves more than 4,000 laboratories, hospitals, and clinics, and 16 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies. Its trailing twelve-month revenue exceeds $18 million. The companies have worked together since a September 2022 distribution agreement. Agilent expects Proscia's recurring-revenue software to add a high-growth, high-margin business to its pathology portfolio. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close early in Agilent's fiscal year 2027.

Agilent launches Gen5 AI cell identification module for BioTek automated imagers

Agilent Technologies has launched the BioTek Gen5 AI cell identification module, a new image analysis software add-on for its BioTek automated imaging systems. The module uses AI-based cell identification and segmentation, eliminating the need for conventional threshold setting or parameter tuning. The technology addresses challenges researchers face with threshold-based segmentation, which requires establishing and optimising analysis parameters for individual experiments. This process can introduce user-dependent variation and create difficulties in high-throughput imaging workflows. The module supports label-free and fluorescence applications, as well as live-cell and kinetic assays commonly used in life science and pharmaceutical research. It integrates with Gen5 software, allowing researchers using compatible BioTek Cytation and Lionheart automated imagers to apply AI-based segmentation within existing workflows. Agilent generated revenue of $6.95 billion in fiscal year 2025 and employs approximately 18,000 people worldwide.
