Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent education is required.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory role in a restaurant, hospitality, or upscale food and beverage environment is required.
  • Strong knowledge of front-of-house operations, including guest seating management, reservation systems, and customer service best practices is required.
  • Experience managing guest flow and waitlists and coordinating with multiple departments is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Ability to stand or walk for a minimum eight-hour shift and perform typical front-of-house duties is required.
  • Ability to twist, reach, bend, push, pull, and carry items as necessary to support daily operations is required.
  • Ability to consistently push or lift up to 20 pounds is required.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members in a fast-paced environment are required.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations is required.
  • A neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance is required, along with compliance with department uniform guidelines.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the host team to ensure outstanding guest service and smooth seating operations during all shifts.
  • Collaborate with restaurant management, servers, and kitchen staff to coordinate seamless guest experiences and address service issues promptly.
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow to optimize seating efficiency and minimize wait times.
  • Maintain consistent guest service in accordance with the restaurant’s brand and hospitality standards.
  • Assist with scheduling, training, and performance management of the team.
  • Ensure accurate completion of daily reports and seating logs.
  • Monitor guest feedback related to seating and front-of-house experiences and share it with leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and restaurant policies and procedures.
  • Foster a positive team environment and guide hosts to work effectively together and support one another.
  • Drive team engagement and development through ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training initiatives.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
  • Perform related tasks as needed to provide exceptional guest service.
