About the job
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in English, linguistics, language study, Entertainment, or Media.
- One to two years of experience and/or education in localization, such as subtitling or dubbing.
- Some experience in digital media, entertainment, audio or video editing, or translation.
- Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities and tight deadlines, and to shift between different client requirements and style guides.
- Ability to work a specified on-call schedule in addition to a regular schedule.
- Ability to work night, overnight, weekend, or rotational shifts.
- Comfort with computers, Microsoft Office, and different software.
- Excellent reading skills, spelling, vocabulary, and grammar.
- Ability to focus on detail while handling multiple tasks.
- Ability to proofread subtitled assets efficiently and report bugs.
- Knowledge of professional scripting, subtitling, and audio software is highly desirable.
- Must be punctual and dependable, be flexible, and have a team attitude and willingness to adapt to changes in programming and the industry.
- Must abide by security policies and protect entrusted information assets.
- Create English closed captions, SDH, English templates, transcripts, and dialogue-list scripts.
- Annotate key English phrases for high-quality translation products.
- Maintain accuracy and speed standards.
- Check subtitle files against company and client requirements for technical specifications, synchronization with video and audio, and style-guide rules.
- Participate in training and development activities in the localization department within English Services.
- Report issues related to workflows, tools, or procedures, and collaborate on suggesting solutions and developing ideas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of professional scripting, subtitling, and audio software.
