Requirements
  • Ability to walk for up to 7 hours, sit for up to 1 hour, and stand for up to 1½ hours at a time.
  • Ability to handle, twist or turn, lift, carry, push, and pull loads weighing 1–50 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally stoop or bend, climb, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Ability to hear normal conversation and demonstrate general, far, and peripheral vision.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, set, and serve food while ensuring proper temperatures and portion sizes.
  • Perform minor food preparation and portioning tasks according to departmental policy.
  • Prepare and gather items for snacks and breaks and deliver them to the proper areas.
  • Assist with tray assembly.
  • Deliver trays to patients according to facility and departmental procedures.
  • Use established two-patient identifiers to ensure patient safety.
  • Double-check trays for accuracy and compliance with nutrition orders before delivery.
  • Position trays properly for patients, assist with opening tray elements, and check whether additional or missing items are needed.
  • Pick up soiled trays promptly and return them to the kitchen for cleaning and storage.
  • Maintain proper food quality and temperature.
Desired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Customer service and/or food service experience.
