  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar with at least 6 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in spacecraft GNC component development, qualification or acceptance test experience including: optical sensors, LIDAR, hazard detection, or other sensors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Responsibilities
  • Design, manufacture and build test fixtures to support component environmental testing.
  • Develop, plan and execute component and subsystem tests, including development, leak, shock, vibe, thermal, proof, and EMC.
  • Develop test requirements, plans and procedures to ensure acceptable hardware/system performance.
  • Design, define, procure, and install system test components and materials; manage vendors and subcontractors during installation.
  • Assist in evaluating hardware and system performance data from qualification and acceptance testing.
  • Assist in troubleshooting qualification and acceptance test anomalies, provide dispositions for hardware non-conformances with supporting rationale, perform system and component risk assessments and define risk burndown in support of vehicle testing and ultimately flight.
  • Identify opportunities for safety improvements and cost savings.
  • Demonstrate high standards in test operations and work cooperatively with a diverse team of Integration Engineers, Responsible Engineers and BLUE customers to ensure requirements are met.
  • Integrate between thermal subsystem and overall system level vehicle to ensure component level testing is in compliance with overall vehicle test plans.
  • Lead daily test operations, operate test consoles, direct technician work and coordinate with internal customers.
