Requirements
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
- Two years of critical care or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit experience required; or BSN and two years of acute care experience; or four years of acute care experience required.
- BLS certificate required.
- ACLS certificate required.
- PALS certificate required.
Responsibilities
- Be accountable for the care activities, safety and goal achievements of assigned patients through assessing, diagnosing, planning and intervening in actual or potential health problems and evaluating patient’s response to the care.
- Include patient education and discharge planning.
- Emphasize mobilizing patients and preventing skin breakdown and falls and implement appropriate measures to achieve this.
- Be a member of a designated care team and collaborate, coordinate and guide team members in planning patient care in a safe environment and achieving patient care goals according to patient/family developmental stage and cultural expectations.
- Practice evidenced by meeting patient/family goals, patient/family satisfaction, care and services demonstrated and thoroughly documented in accordance with American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Practice, Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Organization Standards Sentinel Event Alert Recommendation, Patient/Family Centered Principles, Department of Health Standards and University Hospital Policies and Procedures.
- As professional licensed staff and member of an interdisciplinary team, exemplifies the behavioral expectations articulated for this role.
Desired Qualifications
- C-Pan or CCRN certification preferred.
