Requirements
- A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential.
- Knowledge of personal computers, email accounts, and software programs such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- A thorough understanding of the principles of best activities practices.
- Patience, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and willingness to assist residents across varying maturity and physical functioning levels.
- Ability to be discreet, protect confidential information, and comply with corporate compliance and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement activity programs appropriate to residents' varied backgrounds, emotional needs, interests, abilities, and physical limitations.
- Assist the Activities Director with evaluating each resident and identifying meaningful activity programs.
- Document activity plans and progress notes as directed.
- Work with the Activities Director to plan and set up assigned activities, including gathering supplies and rearranging rooms.
- Assist with developing and distributing monthly activity calendars to residents and posting them throughout the facility.
- Assist with developing and maintaining facility newsletters.
- Comply with safety requirements and infection-control measures while maintaining a clean work environment according to facility policy.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Administrator.
