Soter Insure raises $23.5M Series B led by Galaxy to scale digital asset insurance products

Soter Insure, a digital asset insurance provider based in Abu Dhabi, announced the first close of its Series B funding round led by Galaxy Digital. Coinbase Ventures and Franklin Templeton joined as new investors, with follow-on support from Brevan Howard Digital and existing backers. The final close of the Series B will bring total funding to $23.5 million, plus over 500 BTC and 2,000 ETH. A second close is expected in the coming weeks. Operating from Bermuda with offices in London, New York and Dubai, Soter offers specialized insurance products for digital asset institutions, including Directors & Officers, Professional Indemnity, Crime, and Smart Contract Failure coverage. The funding will support expanding Soter's underwriting and technology capabilities whilst scaling operations across key markets. The company addresses the insurance gap that remains a barrier to institutional adoption of digital assets.

Brevan Howard Digital pivots to stablecoins after assets drop below $2B following 30% loss

Brevan Howard Digital is launching a stablecoin-focused portfolio after a difficult 2025, according to Financial News. The crypto hedge fund's assets have fallen below $2 billion from a peak of around $2.5 billion, following a nearly 30% loss last year driven by the collapse of Mantra's OM token and weak venture investments. The firm recently backed Augustus, a startup building a "Global Dollar Bank" on stablecoin rails. Under new Chief Investment Officer Chris Rayner-Cook, BH Digital has tightened risk controls and returned to modest positive performance in recent months. Partner Colleen Sullivan said stablecoins enable US dollars to move continuously, whilst traditional banking remains constrained by legacy systems.
