Responsibilities
Follow each resident’s care plan and assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, hygiene, and mobility.
Monitor residents’ health, safety, and well-being; maintain a daily communication log; and document changes in functional status and personal needs.
Clean and trim residents’ fingernails and toenails.
Wash, dry, fold, and match resident laundry.
Strip and make beds.
Assist with serving meals and bussing tables.
Participate in and attend required in-service training sessions.
Answer business phones.
Tour individuals who inquire about the facility.
Clean up urine, bowel movements, or blood when housekeeping is unavailable.
Answer call bells and respond to alarms.
Assist with developing and updating each resident’s care plan.
Assist with compliance with state and local regulations.
Chaperone activities outside the facility as needed.
Assist other aides with resident care needs.
Identify resident issues and communicate them to the Administrator and the resident’s physician.
Keep the environment safe for residents.
Provide one-on-one support and visitation to assigned residents.
Respond to resident emergencies, provide first-aid assistance, and arrange appropriate medical attention and follow-up.
Practice safety when working with equipment, chemicals, tools, and utensils.
Maintain professional relationships with employees.
