Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience designing, implementing, and optimising Master Data Management solutions.
  • Strong experience delivering Master Data Management solutions in Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Purview, including data catalogue, lineage, classification, data governance, and information protection capabilities.
  • Eligibility for United Kingdom security clearance.
  • Microsoft SC-400 certification or demonstrable equivalent experience aligned to Microsoft Purview information protection, data loss prevention, and information governance.
  • Consulting experience including stakeholder engagement, discovery workshops, current-state assessment, option appraisal, roadmap development, and production of client-facing deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of Master Data Management principles, including domain identification, golden record design, survivorship rules, matching and merging, reference data, data ownership, stewardship, and data quality controls.
  • Ability to assess enterprise data domains and prioritise Master Data Management use cases based on business value, risk, feasibility, data quality, and implementation complexity.
  • Experience defining Master Data Management operating models, including governance structures, stewardship roles, decision rights, escalation routes, data standards, and ongoing service management.
  • Strong Microsoft Azure data platform knowledge, ideally including Azure Data Lake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL, Synapse, Databricks, integration services, Power BI, and common enterprise integration patterns.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Purview, including data discovery, scanning, catalogue design, glossary or business concept modelling, lineage, classification, sensitivity labelling, data estate health, and governance workflows.
  • Ability to evaluate tooling options and produce balanced recommendations covering capability fit, architecture, security, cost, licensing, implementation effort, operational complexity, and future scalability.
  • Experience assessing data quality across source systems and defining practical remediation approaches, including profiling, rule definition, issue management, and ownership.
  • Strong understanding of metadata management, including business metadata, technical metadata, operational metadata, lineage, cataloguing, enterprise metadata models, and integration with wider data governance.
  • Ability to map dependencies across technology, process, people, governance, security, data architecture, integration, and reporting layers.
  • Experience creating pragmatic implementation roadmaps, including sequencing, phases, work packages, dependencies, risks, assumptions, costs, and benefits.
  • Strong consulting skills, including workshop facilitation, senior stakeholder engagement, structured analysis, clear written communication, and production of concise, high-quality client deliverables.
  • Ability to work in secure or regulated environments and understand information governance, data protection, access control, and auditability.
  • Willingness to undergo security clearance and complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard check.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with United Kingdom public sector organisations or similarly complex, regulated environments.
  • Experience delivering Master Data Management, data governance, or metadata management work within central government, healthcare, housing, education, policing, defence, or wider public services.
  • Experience delivering Microsoft Fabric work and integrating it with Purview, OneLake, Power BI semantic models, and governed analytics environments.
  • Experience developing business cases or investment cases for data governance, Master Data Management, metadata management, or enterprise data platform initiatives.
  • Experience defining data governance models aligned to United Kingdom data protection, information assurance, records management, or public sector security expectations.
  • Knowledge of data architecture patterns for Customer 360, Citizen 360, Supplier 360, Asset 360, Product 360, or other master-data-led analytical and operational use cases.
  • Experience with complementary Master Data Management or metadata tooling such as Profisee, Informatica, Reltio, Semarchy, Collibra, Atlan, or Alation.
  • Experience supporting implementation planning beyond strategy, including mobilisation, backlog definition, delivery governance, testing approach, adoption planning, and early life support.
  • Experience working in consultancy or supplier-side delivery teams and representing Methods credibly with senior client stakeholders.
