  • Translate business requirements into solution-design diagrams and iterate on the designs.
  • Break solution diagrams into deliverable work items and milestones.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure for deploying ML models in real-time and batch environments.
  • Build and maintain Python APIs using Flask or FastAPI to serve ML models.
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline engineers to integrate ML services into user-facing applications.
  • Work with platform engineers to follow infrastructure best practices and ensure scalable deployments.
  • Review pull requests and contribute to code quality across the MLE team.
  • Monitor and maintain cloud-based ML services for reliability and performance.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for ML model deployment.
  • Write unit tests and apply object-oriented programming principles to maintain code.
  • Support data modelling and cloud networking tasks as needed.
  • Contribute to developing and improving the model registry, including tracking and implementing model discontinuation upgrades and model monitoring.
  • Own the deployment framework for all data science services and oversee how data flows into the data science lifecycle from the wider business data warehouse.
  • Oversee automation of the data science lifecycle, including dataset building, training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring, when moving to production.
  • Work closely with the team and collaborate across the data science and deployment lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and other technical teams to support the maturation of analytics practice within the organization.
  • Write high-quality Python code using industry best practices for model training and deployment.

About the Company

Hiscox

Specialized insurer for high-net-worth risks.

Hiscox is a specialized insurer that focuses on high-net-worth individuals and complex, niche risks (including fine art, kidnapping, and other unconventional coverages). It underwrites and issues insurance policies through its global operations, built on Lloyd's heritage and expanded after re-domiciling to Bermuda to operate in 13 countries. Its products work by assessing and underwriting tailored insurance contracts for specific, often hard-to-place risks, with coverage and claims handling aligned to the insured’s needs. The company differentiates itself from competitors by concentrating on specialized, hard-to-place risks rather than mass-market insurance, maintaining independence, and leveraging deep underwriting expertise and a global footprint. Its goal is to grow as a focused, independent specialist insurer that serves ambitious clients worldwide and expands its geographic reach and capabilities.
