Responsibilities
  • Provide work instructions and prioritize team work to meet integration quality, production objectives, and schedules.
  • Perform complex technician functions, including complex builds and troubleshooting with or without a build plan.
  • Coordinate and monitor technicians' workload and work flow to maintain efficiency, quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
  • Train employees on company work methods, processing procedures, and skills development.
  • Serve as the first-level technical escalation point for technicians and resolve production process issues as appropriate.
  • Escalate issues and problems to management or appropriate support groups.
  • Prepare, build, test, package, and deliver products.
  • Assist with skill assessment of talent during the hiring process.
  • Administer the performance assessment process.
  • Assist with new process development.
  • Assemble, repair, rework, and calibrate units, subassemblies, and components to operational specifications or tolerances.
  • Conduct tests and inspections of products and processes for quality, performance, and specification compliance.
  • Read test schedules, work orders, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedures and equipment.
  • Test functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions, including pressure, force, temperature change, vibration, and humidity.
  • Trim and prepare components, including wire cables, connectors, and resistors, using solder and specified adhesives.
  • Use power supplies, multimeters, leak detection and vacuum systems, pressure generators, voltmeters, ohmmeters, ovens, soldering equipment, microscopes, and precision hand tools.
  • Perform or inspect component replacement and rework on units, subassemblies, and repair or exchange assemblies.
  • Read and work from drawings, blueprints, schematics, work orders, wiring diagrams, and written instructions to assemble, rework, or reassemble units.
  • Connect electronic components, subassemblies, or parts to test instruments or automated test equipment and activate the equipment.
  • Read instrument dials, scopes, and viewing screens to identify resistance, capacitance, continuity, wave patterns, short circuits, and current leakage.
  • Confer with engineers, technicians, value stream leaders, and others about testing procedures and results to resolve problems.
  • Examine components, subassemblies, and parts for defects and record defect types and quantities.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot test results on defective units to determine failure causes.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electronic component parts to correct defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Explain assembly testing procedures and techniques to other workers as needed.
  • Maintain employee records.
  • Administer disciplinary measures with required management and human resources approval.
  • Maintain dialogue with employees to support morale and address employee complaints.
  • Maintain labor and production records.

DwyerOmega, a portfolio company of Arcline Investment Management, has acquired Lake Shore Cryotronics, strengthening its precision temperature measurement capabilities in cryogenics whilst expanding into magnetics and material characterisation.
