Responsibilities
  • Work with medical staff to support clinical procedures, contact patients, follow up with patients, and maintain clinical procedure files and policies.
  • Room patients by taking vital signs and histories and preparing patients and equipment for provider visits.
  • Collect specimens and perform routine diagnostic procedures, including electrocardiograms, audiograms, vision and hearing screenings, ear irrigations, tuberculosis skin tests, and spirometry.
  • Assist with minor surgery and other procedures.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations according to provider orders.
  • Receive patient calls and messages for providers.
  • Fax and email correspondence for providers.
  • Coordinate referrals to outside providers and schedule outside appointments.
  • Complete pre-visit planning to obtain information and reports for provider review.
  • Stock and clean patient rooms daily.
  • Perform infection control procedures by regularly cleaning and sterilizing equipment and instruments.
  • Report maintenance and cleaning service issues to the manager.
  • Facilitate the relationship between patients and providers.
  • Develop relationships with patients, families, and outside agencies to coordinate care.
  • Follow through to resolve service problems with appropriate clinic staff.
  • Alert patients to provider changes or schedule delays.
  • Perform other assigned tasks.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous clinical experience or equivalent education and skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Spanish speaking ability.
  • Limited-scope X-ray certification; compensation is provided.
  • Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant credential.
