About the job

Requirements
  • At least 6 years of owning a build system, with a deep understanding of build correctness and performance, including hermeticity, sandboxing, caching, and invalidation.
  • Hands-on experience owning production frontend build pipelines using webpack, Vite, esbuild, or Turbopack, and shared UI packages.
  • Experience owning incremental builds, test sharding, runner fleets, presubmit/postsubmit design, and merge queues, with an understanding that services and user interfaces need different feedback loops.
  • Strong expertise in Node.js module resolution and packaging, including CommonJS/ECMAScript modules and exports.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the move to maintain Bazel tooling and replace accumulated workarounds with a cleaner, faster setup for JavaScript and TypeScript builds.
  • Track build and test performance, improve caching and parallelism, and provide the team with data for build decisions.
  • Own how engineers and agents write, run, and trust tests, including local runs that match continuous integration, automatic flaky-test handling, and quality checks that act as gates.
  • Replace shared, long-lived environments with fast, isolated, reproducible environments that people and agents can start on demand and use safely in parallel.
  • Help set the direction for development workflows in an agent-heavy environment and deliver those improvements as part of the Platform team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Bazel or a comparable monorepo build tool such as Buck2, Pants, Nx, or Turborepo.
  • Experience building agentic workflows within the software development lifecycle.
  • Ownership of test infrastructure such as flaky-test detection and quarantine, ideally including test suites such as Jest, Playwright, or Cypress in hermetic builds.
  • Comfort working in a polyglot repository alongside Go.

About the company

Sprig is a SaaS platform that helps tech companies improve their products by providing fast, actionable user insights. The service collects both numerical data (like user actions and metrics) and descriptive feedback (comments and impressions) from users and samples of designs or prototypes. It works by integrating with a company’s existing tools to capture user events and attributes, then analyzes the data and uses AI to automatically summarize behavior patterns and highlight key product learnings. Teams can use the insights to understand how users experience a product and where to make improvements, without leaving their current workflows. Sprig differentiates itself through seamless integrations with common tools, a combination of quantitative and qualitative data, and AI-generated summaries that speed up decision-making. The goal is to help organizations accelerate product excellence and improve customer experience by turning raw user data into clear, actionable guidance.
